First Family Camping Trip

Last weekend we took our first camping trip with the boys – an overnight adventure at Lake Del Valle in Livermore, a “safe” (meaning we could bolt home if things really hit the fan) 1 hour away. Michelle’s account of the weekend is a great read (I have to admit, that “ho” song was really catchy!)  So I thought I’d add some photos to commemorate the event!

First, a side note: Our camping weekend began with this sign. We were in camp site 94. Which way would you go?

Here we are, assembling our movable tent fortress:

And finally, here’s one of the local tarantulas that happened to swing through our camp on the first day. Michelle nearly set her chair on top of it! Thankfully the boys never saw it – Andrew’s fascinated by spiders, but that fascination borders on terror – and I’m not sure a gigantic spider would soothe any of his anxiety!
